Swami Vivekanad' message

Swami Vivekananda

  • What India wants is a new electric fire to stir up a fresh vigor in the national view. What nation wants is pluck and scientific genius. We want great spirit, tremendous energy and boundless enthusiasm. We want infinite energy, infinite zeal, infinite courage and infinite patience.
  • Weakness is the one cause of suffering. We become miserable because we are weak. We suffer because we are weak. Stand-up and be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your shoulders and know that you are the creator of your own destiny. Man is man so long he is struggling to rise above nature.
  • What our country now wants are muscles of iron and nerves of steel, gigantic wills which nothing can resist which can penetrate in to the mysterious and secrets of the universe, and will accomplish their purpose in any fashion even if it meant death face to face.
  • We have wept long enough. No more weeping, but stand on your feet and be men. It is a man making religion that we want. It is man making theories that we want. It is man making education all round that we want. And here is the test of the truth – anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually, and spiritually- reject it as poison. There is no life in it. It cannot be true.
  • We speak of many things parrot like, but never do them. Speaking and not doing has become a habit with. What is the cause of that? Physical weakness, this is the sort of weak brain not able to do anything. We must strengthen it. First of all our young men must be strong. Religion will come afterwards. You will be nearer to Heaven through football than through a study of Gita.
  • “TRY TO LOVE ANY BODY AND EVERYBODY”
  • If a man with an ideal makes a thousand mistakes, I am sure that the men without an ideal make fifty thousand. Therefore it is better to have an ideal.
  • Get up and set your shoulder to the wheels. How long is this life for? As you have come into this world leave some mark behind, otherwise where is the difference between you and the trees and stones? They too come into existence, decay and die. My child what I want is muscles of iron and nerves of steel, inside which dwells a mind of the same material as that of which the thunderbolt is made. Have you got the will to surmount mountain high obstructions? If the whole world stands against you, sword in hand, will you still dare to do what you think is right? If your wives and children are against you, if all your money goes, your name dies, your wealth vanishes, would you still stick to it? Would you still pursue it and go on towards your own goal?

Past postings from my diaries

???????????

“Essentially I am interested in this world, in this life and not in some other or a future “so said one of the greatest man of 20th century' Pt. Jawahar lal Nehru'   and so I believe. I do not wish to carve out a Utopian world for us to live and build castles in air. I love this world of ours, yes: every inch of it. I  feel the warmth of its embrace, the tenderness of its caressing the grace of its love in every breath we take and in every fleeting moment of our life.
Wherever I have gone and studied the tender lines on the faces of the men, women, and children,  I have found something in common in them irrespective of the caste, color, and creed. That something in common is the bubbling life, the unconquerable spirit, and the manifestation of the Great in millions, the reflection of the same light in the mirror of every heart. Whatever I am able to study in my life with all my humble efforts, I am completely convinced of oneness in humanity, the earnestness of each individual to live in peace and harmony with each other. A strong current of love is flowing in the heart of billions. Wherever I have talked with people I am able to feel the hate and horror which nearly everyone has developed against war, the social and economic exploitation and  political, social or economical slavery in its every disguise.
But in spite of this universality of humanism, I see the world of today in a very miserable plight. It amazing and significant fact that in spite of all modern scientific progress and talk of globalization and internationalism, racialism  exploitation, violence and other separating and  destructive forces are at least as much in evidence today, if not more, than at any previous time in history. There is something lacking in all this progress and the value system which is hindering the establishment of harmony between human beings.
Evil has triumphed often in the past, but what is far worst, is the distortion and twisting of what seemed so right. Is human nature so essentially naive and foolish that it would take ages of teaching and training through sufferings and misfortune, before it could behave reasonably and believe in goodness of every human being? and raise man above that creature of hate and violence? Is every effort to change it radically in the present or near future is doomed to failure?

I would request all my friends and others to please enlighten me about this sorry state of affairs. I really do not having even an iota of any idea about this.

The person who can move and travel any where, why should he/she suffer the difficulties/ shortcomings of his own country's affection (स्वदेशानुराग) . Only fools with little knowledge consume the salty water on the pretext that it is from my parental well.
Unfortunately the wisdom of great sagas of India is completely lost even in their own land of the principle that the whole world is only one family.(वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम). How many lives and resources are lost in foolish wars in the name of the honor of nations, religion, caste, color, language, philosophy, way of governance or even regions?  When will the human being will mature to disown all these artificial barriers and belong to only one community i.e. the community of human beingsय़  I have written more than fifty years back that
        नक्शे की रेखाएं बाटें इन्सानों  को, मानवता  को मुख पर एक तमाचा है।

I invite all the persons of wisdom to disown from today these shackles of nations, color, community, language, religion, region etc. and proclaim with pride that I belong to only one community, the community of human being, nothing less or nothing more.

The tears come, the mother cries.
She can see her son is going to die.
                            They say dont worrey,
He is going to be alright.

   She knows he cant survive,
                   A bullet in his head,
                        A bullet in his mind.
But waht for, What is his crime.
  They call this war,
           They call it fate,
               But I dont know from,
                    Where they get this hate.

So just why cant we live in peace,?
                        I know it sounds cliched,
But that is what I feel.

We all fight for our country,
We all fight for our face,
                         Even it means wiping out
                                 The entire  human race.

Now I feel are too deep in it,
It is always tougher to get out,
And much easier to get in.

We built a pit, we lit a fire,
Now we are on the pit, and
We are the fuel to the fire.

      Alas! Someday the fire,
                  Is gonna get us all,
I am sure it is laughing,
At the irony of this great fall.
